We all are aware that a marathon was organized on Sunday, October 16, 2005 in the Netherlands. The event was sponsored by ING Bank of the Netherlands. So it was named “ING Amsterdam Marathon 2005″. There were 2.5km, 5km, 10km, 21.5km and 42km distances for different age groups to finish. The total number of participants was 16,000.

The number of 42km marathon runners was 6000. Mr. Haile Gebreselassie of Etheopia finished first in 2:06:20 seconds. Mr. Ramesh Prasad Shrestha currently residing in the Netherlands, was one of the 42km marathon runners. He finished 4889th position in 4:52:33 seconds net. The last runner finished 5329th position in 6:14:03 seconds.
