The Great Translator Passed Away
We have a sad news for you this time.
Former Royal Nepalese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bhaju Tirtha Raj Tuladhar passed away on September 07, 2005 at the age of 90. A resident of Bijeswori, Kathmandu and a successful bureaucrat / diplomat, late Bhaju Tuladhar was decorated with Ati Prabal Gorkha Daxin Bahu (first class) and Subikhyat Trishakti Patta (second class). He is survived by wife Kamalabati, sons Sagun (now in New York, USA) and Sanjog.
Late Bhaju Tuladhar was also a person of letters and had made a significant contribution to the promotion of Nepal Bhasa. He had translated Sugat Saurabh Nepal Bhasa epic into English to make the epic known to the world. He had translated into Nepal Bhasa and published selected world class stories under the title Aakhe and New Stories from Sri Lanka. He had translated a great many number of poems from Nepal Bhasa to English and vice versa. His hard work of translating epics and poems fetched him the most prestigious Shrestha Sirapa literary award.
